Firefly BioWorks is developing a universal platform for solution-phase multiplexed detection of proteins and nucleic acids, based on multifunctional encoded particles. This platform has the unique advantage of being instrument independent. Users will be able to run our assays without purchasing dedicated equipment, as our particles can be read on standard flow cytometers and decoded with our FireCode software suite. Our next-generation particles are produced, encoded and functionalized by Optical Liquid Stamping, an innovative microfabrication method that combines photolithography with microfluidics. This process allows unprecedented flexibility and versatility in particle design. Ultimately we envision our platform allowing academic, industrial and clinical scientists around the world to develop and use multiplex assays independently of the specific instrumentation available to them.
Firefly is currently offering a beta-testing program for the
purpose of refining our kits before commercial launch. Early
access participants will receive our products free of charge
(after signing a Materials Transfer Agreement) and will be
invited to provide feedback. If you are interested in
